How to book a private jet

how to book a private jet

There are several options, but we will focus on two of them: contacting the operator directly (for example Jung Sky), or finding a (great) private jet broker.

---
If you are a rookie in the "private jet flyer" category, and you’re seeking your very first experience of flying private, booking a private jet can seem like a very simple and easy task.

And you know what? It really is, or, to be more precise – it will be right after you read this article. Otherwise, it could be a little tricky.

Now, you’re probably reading this and thinking “I will just google it and AI will probably provide several suggestions as well as point out some tips, tricks and potential traps along the way.” OK, sounds reasonable. Google / AI will probably give a lot of info you need to know before booking. However, let’s not assume, let us actually see what we get when we google the phrase “How to book a private jet”:

Simple?

Easy?

Maybe we're wrong, but it doesn't seem quite as straightforward as promised so let's try to make it as simple as possible.

OPTION A: Contact the operator directly

For example, with Jung Sky, all you need to do is write an e-mail to sales@jungsky.hr with all the neccessary info about the flight you need and someone will reply with an offer very shortly, persuming we have availability within our fleet.

Very important thing to know is what information you need to provide to our sales team in order to have the offer on your table in the very first reply you receive from us, because we've had multiple occassions where people needed a quote quickly, but didn't share all the paramount info, and time got alittle bit wasted on 3-4 unnecessary e-mails.

NECESSARY INFO:

  • Departure destination (airport or city you need or want to fly from)
  • Arrival destination (airport or city you need or want to fly to)

NOTE: Lots of cities have multiple airports, so emphasize which airport if that particular airport is important to you.

  • Date & time of departure flight (exact or at least approximate)
  • Number of passengers
  • Return flight yes/no? If yes, than again all the same info for the return flight.

And that’s it, our sales will take it from there, reply with an offer in case of aircraft availability and contract of transport could be ready for your signature in no time.

OPTION B: Find a (good) private jet broker

This may sound a little bit strange coming from us (an operator), but if you have plans to fly privately more often, this could prove to be a more suitable option for your needs.

Who are private jet brokers?

AI overview summarize it quite nicely. “A private jet broker is an aviation specialist who arranges private aircraft charter flights on behalf of clients by sourcing, comparing, and securing aircraft from a network of certified operators. They are intermediaries, helping clients find the most suitable aircraft, pricing, routing, and service options while managing the logistics of the trip.”

They have access to a global network of thousands of certified operators, they know the ins and outs of the business, the service and the airports and they ensure the plane, the operator, and the pilots meet strict safety standards before you step on board. Also, when things don’t go 100 percent as planned, which is not uncommon because each flight experience is subjected to multiple different factors, they  - together with the operator - can be real difference makers in saving the situation and still getting you from point A to point B.

"OMG, we have an AOG"

One rather common example is an AOG situation, feared by everyone in aviation, especially business aviation. AOG (Aircraft on Ground), is the industry’s ultimate "code red" term which means an aircraft has a mechanical issue meaning it has to be grounded and cannot fly until the problem is fixed.

When a jet is declared AOG, the passengers are stranded. Great operators do everything in their power and very often succedd in finding a substitute aircraft, but some of them don’t and it’s not always easy to find a substitution that’s inside or at least close to the initial budget approved by the passenger. And although they’re also not “miracle workers”, because sometimes maintaing the exact departure time as initially planned is impossible, that’s when having a great broker can really pay off.

Let’s summarize the comparison between these two options:
